“Due to a hectic yet sedentary lifestyle there was little or no physical activity with late working hours. This coupled with zero discipline in food habits took a toll on my health, I picked up weight. At certain point, it seemed out of control.” Sathish says depicting his ordeal with his #OverweightCondition.
“At a relatively younger age, the tendency is to ignore health, the marked apathy to regular exercising and good food habits are risky, and I was taking that risk – more like a conscious ignorance. It wasn’t very hard to spot slightly older folks into their early or mid-30’s getting into the grip of either hypertension or diabetes when they ignored obesity. Obesity unchecked takes its toll, slowly but surely. I was deeply concerned. I wanted to regain my health and fitness levels.” Sathish adds.
“The uncontrolled weight gain had another side effect. I am an avid #Volleyball player. It was becoming increasing difficult just to carry the body around with the right energy levels let alone play my favorite sport with my friends with requisite level of agility. I was gradually becoming disinterested; my disappointment stemmed more from the cluelessness of what needs to be done to regain my health and fitness levels than from my overweight condition itself. My random attempts were always met with failure – it’s true, I lost some pounds while trying all by myself but I gained all of it back and more in half the time that I took to lose it in the first place.”
